My parents 20th wedding aniversary was on September 20th and Grace and I organized making them a quilt. We did it all over the email to get the fabric and then we made the actual quilt while they were out of the house and at a friends house.
We gave it to them on their anniversary in the Pendle Hill dinning room. It was really nice because they did not have a single idea even though we had hinted at it to my dad's face.

Congratulations to all of you. May they still be warmed by it at their 50th anniversary.
Wow, that is cool! I don't know who is more blessed:
you and your sister for having such great parents that you would WANT to make such a quilt;
or your parents for having such great kids to actually MAKE them such a quilt.
I guess in the end it doesn't matter who is "more" blessed. All of you clearly are... for "blessed are the PIECE-makers."

Hey again, Rebecca.
Out of curiosity, I looked at some of your photos on flickr and I noticed the one titled Nebraska 2. You wrote a caption like, "some sort of monument."
That "monument" is actually a pretty cool museum about American roadways as the country developed. My partner and I went to it when we were in Nebraska watching the sandhill crane migration. We had zero expectations and had a great time learning about what could have been a dull subject.
Anyway, just so you know. In case you ever drive that way again. With or without your family. smile
